Little Guardians is a child safety initiative that was founded in December 2025 with the objective of making personalised safety education accessible and practical for children and adults who want to support them. The project utilizes a multi-layered method that combines storytelling, education, and community networks to build up a children's understanding of physical and emotional safety.
At the core of the project is the Little Stories Children's Book, a two-part storybook series that introduces concepts of safety in a child-friendly manner. These stories help young ones to understand boundaries, trust, and communication through relatable characters in everyday scenarios. To further incorporate learning, Little Guardians also developed the Little Lives Safety Guide. This practical resource brings together proven frameworks and practices for NGOs, educators, and parents to promote safety awareness.
To recognize that knowledge must be supported by access, the initiative will curate The Little Helpers Awareness Database, an open-access online platform of verified emergency numbers and services, including police helplines, child protective services, and contacts for women’s shelters. Little Guardians engages first-hand with communities through the Little Steps Fundraiser to support the distribution of child-friendly safety kits, and through the Little Leaders Learn Together session, which teaches children practical tools, such as safety circles and how to identify good and bad touch.
Lastly, through the Little Guardians Team, the initiative will foster long-term support by offering a mentor network of young adults who meet regularly with children from NGOs, creating safe spaces for conversation, guidance, and trust-building.
